New Hotel, Marseille: between heritage and the contemporary

At the foot of Saint Victor Abbey, between the Old Port and the Corniche, New Hotel Of is a 4-star hotel where history meets contemporary forms. A former 19th-century building, once home to the Institut Pasteur, extended by a resolutely modern structure — the place operates through tension. An equilibrium. Or perhaps a friction.

A space already shaped by art and design

New Hotel Of is not a neutral space. From the outset, the management chose to highlight an artistic scene, embedding the hotel within a living cultural dynamic. Its architecture, its gallery, its materials extend this intention. The project developed with Beau Edition does not add images. It builds on what is already there.

A constructed vision

For this collaboration, Beau Edition developed a series of images proposing another reading of the city. Not documentary. Not descriptive. A construction. Fragments, shifts, altered perceptions.

Between heritage and projection

The city is made of layers. Ruins and reconstructions. Cultures overlapping without fully merging. Ancient structures and contemporary forms. The hotel reflects this condition. The images extend it.

A coherence built with the place

The project was developed in direct collaboration with the New Hotel group. Julien Claessens and Adrien Dewisme worked closely with the teams to build a proposal aligned with the identity of the place. The objective was not to decorate. But to align. To create a visual language that belongs to the space. Not added. Integrated.

A fully controlled production

Each Beau Edition print is produced with a consistent level of precision. Prints are made in collaboration with professional laboratories selected for the accuracy of their work. Color, density, detail, material rendering: every parameter is controlled. Before shipping, each piece is checked. Print quality. Frame finishing. Assembly. The goal is simple: a flawless final object.

Accessible, yet not neutral

These works are not unique pieces. They are designed to be produced, distributed and installed. They remain accessible. But they are not neutral. They hold a tension. A position.

Conclusion

At New Hotel Of Marseille, the images do not represent the city. They construct it. In resonance with the identity of the place, between memory and projection, structure and interpretation.
